http://www.nation.lk/epaper/sunday/2014/03/02/files/mobile/index.html#18

You are now in their world. They see you. You see the South Asian restaurant you’ve had your sights on, but you wait.  It’s lunch hour and they are all there, talking, laughing and eating. You tell yourself that you don’t care, but you know it’s a lie. They will see you. Smell you.  Despise you. You decide wait outside until just before the lunch special ends.

Reflections Appear Subtly and Dramatically

If the eyes were the window to the soul, he was going to use laser-like focus to smash that window into shards and smithereens until his entrapped soul would show its hand, for once and for all.

the humming that won't stop,
can't stop, who can make it stop,
where is it going...

It could be her teeth, her hair, her odor or, in this case, my firm's focus, her skin color.  We simply highlight and refine it until, eventually, that magnificent flaw becomes the beauty  of our industry.

The protesting diners finally entered the fighting arena.  They were now seizing control of the ax-handles and the ax-wielders.  The bloodied now had the upper hand.   The wielders’ hatred and ignorance lost their bold.  The snowy shadows all looked not to the heavens but to the vanguard surrounding the Plaza.  And on cue, the Uniformed resolutely marched forward and, in unison and with precision, added blood and Southern justice to the principled diners.

“Hey Jamal, it’s me.  You’re not going to believe what just happened…” Jamal interrupts, “Yeah, I heard.  Damn.  Did she mention the unibrow thing in the email before dumping you?”
“Uh, no,” Charlie hesitates as he’s taken aback by the ease of his friend’s question.  “But I’m certain that’s the reason.  It’s always the reason,” he despondently utters.

“Listen, no matter what, I’m not taking my swimsuit off,” Soraya insisted.  “So when we get there you might as well just drop the subject because I’m not interested.”
They were at the peak of the mountain when they’d just past a sign showing that they were at an elevation of 5,445 feet.  It was mid-afternoon and looking to the left hillocks of purple and yellow vegetation painted the landscape and created a mood of blissful serenity.

“Where the hell are you?” Josh cried.
“Babe, I’ve just landed! I wish you were there with me at the festival,” Melodie shot back excitedly. “I’m so happy to hear from…” she continued before being interrupted.
“Listen, my family is here waiting for you,” he fumed. “And I’ve told you how impatient they get when they have to wait for anyone, for anything. Really, this is the worst thing that could’ve happened to me.”
“But Josh, the plane was delayed and…well, I’m sorry. I’ve just rented a car and on my way. I love…” but by the time she could complete her sentence Josh had already hung up in disgust.
